Embedded Psychotherapist - Anoka County Jail
My therapeutic approach includes meeting patients where they are at, honoring their experience, and respecting their pace for change. I promote autonomy, supporting patients in building insight and confidence. Utilizing an attachment and trauma-informed approach, I recognize how past experiences shape present patterns. I strive to create a space where healing, resilience, and meaningful connection can develop.
I received both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas. I hold professional licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. I have experience working across the lifespan; from ages 4 through 101. I have worked in community-based settings, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and several skilled nursing facilities. My professional experiences have shaped my work as a clinician by offering a glance at folks lives, at every stage and transition. This guides my approach of meeting each individual person where they are at, regardless of how I have met them before.
I am a huge homebody! When not at work, you can find me doing a puzzle (my biggest so far is 2000 pieces!), working on a new craft, baking something yummy, or hanging out with my husband and our 2 pets (1 dog and 1 cat; both are black and white!).
