Clinical Trainee; Pinecrest/Hastings Middle School
I believe in a humanistic approach to therapy by providing active listening, authenticity, and empathy. I look at clients through an attachment-based, trauma-informed, developmental lens. For me the heart of therapy is the healthy relationship you have the privilege to create with your client. To be able to walk beside them and provide encouragement and support. I utilize evidence-based modalities including play therapy techniques, CBT techniques, TF-CBT, and mindfulness.
I have worked with children and adolescents through volunteer work and also professionally for over twenty years. These opportunities include volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, working with adolescents in the juvenile justice system, working with children in a level four federal setting school, as an in-home skills practitioner, as a Children’s Mental Health Case Manager, and as a therapist.
I enjoy traveling, reading, a good cup of coffee or tea, and spending time with my family. I love animals and really enjoy any opportunity to take my dogs to the dog park. I also really enjoy bird watching. I find it fascinating to see all of the beautiful birds that decorate our world.
