Nicolas Garcia

Mobile Crisis Certified Peer Specialist II

I offer an open space for clients to speak about their life and mental health difficulties. I am attentive to my client’s story which helps me learn about them and their needs. I connect with others through my own shared experience which lets me see a personal side with clients, compared to other roles. I encourage clients to find a sense of independence, which assists them in learning how to use coping mechanisms for further regulation.

Professional Experience

I connect with clients through shared experience dealing with mental health and dysregulation. I have personally dealt with my own share of mental illness and traumatic events. I use that experience to connect with others on a more personal level. I assist with informing individuals of therapeutic practices, encouraging independence, and helping clients reach their personal goals. I have received my BS in psychology and have later gone through CPSS training to get my certificate. I use practices learned in previous job experiences to further provide the support people need to reach their personal recovery or goal.

About Me

I enjoy a lot of forms of media consumption. I often find myself watching different shows/anime more than movies. I wind down by playing games or listening to music. Baking with my friends tends to be one of my favorite experiences. My social life helps with my own stability and regulation. I am able to connect with friends and share experiences that helps us get through difficult times. I have one cat named Kopé. She is a Siamese mix, and she is a wonderful emotional support animal.
