I believe that mental and emotional health problems experienced by children and adolescents arise from a combination of biological and environmental causes and these causes can be historical or existing in the client’s current lives. I believe one of the ways to be helpful to these clients is by having their family systems that surround them function as well as possible, both for the client and all family members.
I have primarily focus on working with youth and their families in various capacities as an in-home family therapist. Megan works from a systemic, collaborative, strengths-based therapeutic approach to help clients acknowledge the various unique experiences which impact their lives. Megan is trained in TF-CBT and has several years of experience working with trauma, reactive attachment, and systemic difficulties.
I strive to utilize deep compassion and understanding as avenues for effective treatment. I believe that authentic connection is a healing tool that must be strengthened or learned when traumas and attachment disruptions have occurred for individuals and families. I work to instill hope and reduce suffering in the families I serve.
