Mobile Crisis Clinical Trainee
As a social worker, my professional philosophy is rooted in empathy, respect, and cultural humility. I believe every individual and
family has inherent strengths, and my role is to support, empower, and walk alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges. I am
committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. Drawing from my experience in
child welfare, mental health, and family support, I strive to provide care that is trauma-informed, person-centered, and responsive to
each client’s unique needs and background. My goal is to build trusting relationships, foster resilience, and help individuals and
families achieve stability and well-being through collaboration and compassionate care.
I bring a strong foundation of professional experience in social work, mental health, and child and family services that allows me to
provide thoughtful, informed, and compassionate care. I’ve worked with children and families in a variety of settings—including
schools, clinics, in the community, and through county services—supporting them through challenges related to trauma, mental health,
and life transitions. My training includes completing a Master of Social Work at Augsburg University and clinical internship experience
providing therapy to youth and families. I am trained in conducting diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans, and offering
therapy in a way that is culturally responsive, and trauma informed. In my roles at Hennepin County and Fraser, I’ve helped families
navigate complex systems, supported children in out-of-home care, and provided hands-on support to those with autism and other
mental health needs. This combination of education, clinical training, and direct service experience allows me to meet clients where
they are and walk with them toward healing, growth, and long-term stability.
I want my clients to know that I’m not only here to support them professionally, but I also value building a real, human connection. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends—they keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of community and support systems, something I bring into my practice as well. I also love reading, especially books that help me better understand people and cultures, and I make time for the gym because staying active helps me care for both my physical and mental health. An interesting fact about me is that I’m multilingual and deeply value cultural diversity—I believe every person’s background and story matters. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported every step of the way.

Crisis Clinician
As a clinician, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. My philosophy is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and cultural responsiveness. I believe that healing happens through relationships and that each person brings their own strengths, knowledge, and story to the room. My goal is to meet clients where they are, honor their lived experiences, and help them build the tools they need to move toward the life they want to live. I believe in the importance of naming systemic barriers while also helping clients navigate their goals in a way that aligns with their values and identities.
I hold a Master of Social Work, a Master of Professional Studies in Addiction Counseling, and I am licensed as both an LICSW and LADC. I also obtained my doctorate in Counseling Psychology. My professional experience spans over eight years in a range of clinical settings, including child protection, crisis services, withdrawal management, and community mental health. I have supported individuals and families experiencing trauma, substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health challenges.
My training has equipped me to conduct psychological evaluations, provide individual and group therapy, and support clients in both outpatient and residential settings. I am trained in ADOS-2 and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and I draw from approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, and narrative therapy. My clinical focus includes trauma, personality, and substance use. I bring this training into every session with the goal of offering care that is thoughtful and informed.
I grew up in Minnesota and have a 16-year-old dog named Gunther. I am a curious person who loves learning through experience. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking and building furniture from scratch, it helps me stay grounded and creative. I also love baking, especially cheesecakes, and traveling is a big part of my life. Exploring new places and cultures helps me see the world from different perspectives, which I also bring into my work as a therapist.

I believe it is important to see the whole person, rather than just the issues that brought them to you. Mental health is not a “one size fits all” and therefore should not be approached that way. Everyone does not experience depression or grief in the same way, so understanding the whole person is vital to assisting them in their recovery.
My professional experience includes working in rural Minnesota as a supervisor at a residential facility for at-risk females who were victims of sex trafficking. This is the moment I decided to return to school and obtain my clinical degree because I found that many of the girls looked like me, and could benefit from a cultural approach. After 5 years, I moved back to the Twin Cities metro area and worked as a case manager for both adults and children which I found rewarding as I watched clients evolve by accomplishing their goals. I have also worked as a therapist in an adolescent day treatment in Hennepin County and a school-based therapist in Anoka.
My approach explores the intersection of language and identity, with a focus on African American Vernacular English and its impact on communication in clinical settings.
I enjoy shopping, skydiving, watching true crime, cooking, and spending time with my family and beloved dogs, Cocoa & Chloe. My favorite season is summer, so I love to spend time on the patio with my friends.
Fun fact: I am also working towards being a master skydiver and will hopefully pass the test in the Spring 2026.

Outpatient Clinical Trainee
As a Clinical trainee, I find it important to create a therapeutic connection and space where individuals can come and feel comfortable while we collaboratively work to learn, unlearn, build awareness, and be mindful of patterns that may or may not need changing (etc.). Together will find the tools that will help you bridge the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be by getting into your mind and body!
I have been working diligently to become a part of the mental health community by going to school for my bachelor’s degree in psychology and my master’s degree in co-occurring disorders and addictions counseling. I have my Alcohol and Drug license (LADC) and I’m currently pursuing my second license as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). In the meantime, I take it upon myself to continue my learning journey and focus on therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and a holistic Person-Centered approach that respects the unique intersecting factors that make up each person.
While I am passionate about mental health I also love getting out in nature (hammocks at regional parks!), animals (currently have three kitties that I might be allergic to), books (love lots of fantasy fiction and sci-fi), time with loved ones, and a good laugh. I welcome all the jokes, even the knock-knock ones!

My goal is to is to educate my clients on all the resources they have available to them and help them tackle any obstacles or challenges they are facing. I want my clients to feel empowered and supported through this journey we call life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Sociology. I continued my education and received a master’s degree in k-12 school counseling. I was a school counselor for six years working with ages 6-21 on social, emotional, and career goals. I am very passionate about trauma Informed schools and wanted to incorporate that on a larger level, so I went back to school to get my master’s in educational leadership and was a principal for four years. I missed working one on one with clients and helping them be successful in their lives which is what brought me to Canvas Health. I am also working on getting my license in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
When my family and I aren’t running around with sports (hockey, soccer, swimming, basketball, track, dirt biking and baseball), you will most likely find us outside (fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, ATVing, walking out chocolate late, swimming at the beach).
