Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is an evidence-based treatment designed for young children (typically ages birth to 5) and their caregivers who have experienced stressful or traumatic events. CPP sessions involve both the child and their primary caregiver. A trained therapist uses play, conversation, and guidance to help families process difficult experiences and develop positive patterns of interaction. The goal is to create a safe space where healing can happen together.
CPP is available at Canvas Health’s Oakdale, Stillwater, Cottage Grove, and Bloomington clinics. When appropriate, services can also be provided via telehealth, making it easier for families to access care.
