Crisis Clinician
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have been working in the mental health field since 2013. I am also a board-approved supervisor for LMFT, LPC, and LPCC clinicians. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine human connection. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood and respected, while remaining sensitive to the many cultural, relational, and life experiences that shape who we are.
I am interested not only in what someone is experiencing, but in understanding the larger context around it- their relationships, patterns, strengths, history, and the systems they are part of. I especially enjoy working with individuals and families during times of crisis, transition, or significant change. While these periods can feel overwhelming, I also believe they can create unique opportunities for connection and growth. There can be an openness to seeing ourselves, our relationships, and our lives differently.
I value the opportunity to meet people wherever they are, help create a sense of steadiness in the midst of uncertainty, and support them in finding a path forward that feels authentic and sustainable. For me, therapy is not simply about reducing distress; it is also about helping people recognize their own capacity for resilience, connection, and meaningful change.
I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University in 2018. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bethel University in 2013. My professional background includes crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, intensive in-home family therapy, clinical supervision, and mental health assessment. I have worked in hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, residential programs, clients’ homes, community settings, and crisis centers.
Crisis work has been a particularly significant part of my career. I have worked as a crisis phone counselor, crisis therapist, and mental health crisis clinician, including responding to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and county crisis lines. My experience includes risk assessment, short-term stabilization, de-escalation, and helping individuals and families determine appropriate next steps and levels of support during difficult or uncertain moments.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I am a mom to three children and enjoy a mix of creative, intellectual, and outdoor interests. I love reading—especially classic literature—and exploring philosophy and psychology. I also enjoy yoga, crocheting, puzzles, hiking, bird watching, and hula hooping.
