Psychotherapist Clinical Trainee
Samantha Robinson, MA, a compassionate and skilled mental health provider at Canvas Health, is committed to helping individuals and families across Minnesota find clarity, healing, and resilience. She provides comprehensive mental health care for children, teens, and adults through a wide range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, couples and family counseling, intensive outpatient programs (LOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). Whether supporting a child struggling with school avoidance, an adolescent navigating identity questions, or an adult coping with life transitions, Samantha tailors her approach to meet each person’s unique needs.
Samantha serves individuals of all ages—from toddlers to seniors-offering developmentally sensitive care that draws on evidence-based modalities. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders, and helps families work through challenges related to parenting, behavior concerns, and relationship dynamics. With training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and faith-based treatment, Samantha ensures that care is both clinically sound and aligned with the personal values of those she serves. Samantha has a deep passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, or ongoing struggles related to substance use. She understands how trauma and addiction can impact relationships, identity, and overall functioning, and she brings empathy. patience, and structure to the healing process. Her experience with populations such as veterans, individuals in foster care or adoption systems, and those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders informs her inclusive and culturally responsive approach. Samantha often integrates DBT skills, mindfulness, and parenting strategies to build resilience and foster emotional regulation in her clients.
Outside of her clinical work, Samantha enjoys spending time immersed in creative activities that reflect her warm and thoughtful nature. She finds joy in baking, crocheting, diamond art, painting, and making vision or prayer boards and handmade cards. These hobbies enrich her therapeutic presence, bringing a sense of grounding and creativity to her.
