Crisis Clinician
As a clinician, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. My philosophy is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and cultural responsiveness. I believe that healing happens through relationships and that each person brings their own strengths, knowledge, and story to the room. My goal is to meet clients where they are, honor their lived experiences, and help them build the tools they need to move toward the life they want to live. I believe in the importance of naming systemic barriers while also helping clients navigate their goals in a way that aligns with their values and identities.
I hold a Master of Social Work, a Master of Professional Studies in Addiction Counseling, and I am licensed as both an LICSW and LADC. I also obtained my doctorate in Counseling Psychology. My professional experience spans over eight years in a range of clinical settings, including child protection, crisis services, withdrawal management, and community mental health. I have supported individuals and families experiencing trauma, substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health challenges.
My training has equipped me to conduct psychological evaluations, provide individual and group therapy, and support clients in both outpatient and residential settings. I am trained in ADOS-2 and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and I draw from approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, and narrative therapy. My clinical focus includes trauma, personality, and substance use. I bring this training into every session with the goal of offering care that is thoughtful and informed.
I grew up in Minnesota and have a 16-year-old dog named Gunther. I am a curious person who loves learning through experience. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking and building furniture from scratch, it helps me stay grounded and creative. I also love baking, especially cheesecakes, and traveling is a big part of my life. Exploring new places and cultures helps me see the world from different perspectives, which I also bring into my work as a therapist.
