Psychotherapist Clinical Trainee
My foundations are in Individual Psychology, Liberation Psychology and Person-Centered interventions. All of these theories, in my belief, lend themselves well to expressive arts modalities, which I incorporate when clients feel stuck or when they struggle expressing themselves verbally. What this actually means for you is that I try to focus on meeting you where you are at, tailoring treatment for your goals, and pushing past colonized mindsets. I do this by focusing on nurturing the therapeutic relationship, creating an environment where you feel empowered through education, analyzing belief systems that could be hindering growth, and helping you gain tools so you can live in accordance with your values. Therapy is a partnership. Counselors have the technical know-how, but you are the expert in your life.
I graduated Indiana University: Bloomington with a B.S. in Psychology and am currently pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Expressive Arts Therapy Certification at Adler Graduate School. I work from a wellness model where clients can be seen holistically and just not diagnosed and dismissed. When I look at clients with troubles, I see survivors who have had to learn how to cope with their circumstances. With some guidance, I hope to guide clients back to their center of wellness. While I hope to work primarily with young adults and teenagers who identify as LGBTQIA2S, I see the value in every person and hope to be able to provide for individuals in every step of their journey.
I love little adventures, thrifting, trashy TV, and creating with my hands.
