Just like physical health, we all have emotional/mental health. Life will bring changes, challenges, and stressors that impact our mental health. I believe learning and growing through these experiences can bring increased wellness and life satisfaction; AND it is not easy! Therapy creates an opportunity to check in with our self (and a trained professional) about how we are doing with our mental health. As a therapist, I strive to create a professional yet authentic connection that allows for a sense of safety, hope, and empowerment. I use a whole-person approach and individualize the services I provide based on each unique person and situation, drawing from many theoretical frameworks, therapeutic modalities, and wisdom from past experience. I enjoy meeting people from various backgrounds and hearing from them about what is most important to them at this point in their life. We then partner to clarify goals and the strategies we will use to facilitate healing and forward movement. It is always an honor to be alongside people as they do this important wellness work.
Over the past 18+ years, I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults, and elders from various backgrounds. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, groups, and milieu populations in a variety of settings including hospital, school, outpatient clinics, in-home, in-community, and residential treatment (IRTS). I have also worked on a DBT team in the past and have had some training in doing trauma work with children (TFCBT).
